taradise Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 This post is for help with my post cruise hotel room! I am looking for anywhere between 3.5*-4* with a budget of $150, obviously if I can get it for less, great. If it's going to cost me more I'd still be interested. Not sure what the going rate is, which is why I am here!We need to book for Dec. 28-31. Looking into the 3 South Beach zones. I'm not familiar with Miami so if anybody has insight into which zone to stay, please let me know! We just want to be close to the beach, the shopping and the food (and drinks!) Looking for a centralized place that will allow us to walk most places. Thanks so much for the help!
thereuare Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 As per your Pre-Cruise Hotel stay i assume you'll be quad occupancy for this leg of your trip as well?In South Beach i'd be a little more 'cautious' regarding using PRICELINE for quad occupancy as many of the hotels are smaller, independently owned properties, some rooms in the area are fairly small and may only accomodate one bed. As well, given the New Year's holiday, hotels may have higher occupancy levels than usual, and therefore it may be more difficult to accomodate a request for a room with 2 beds. Given the above, let us know your thoughts and we'll take it from there. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. taradise Posted December 1, 2009 Author Report Posted December 1, 2009 Your advice is excellent and I guess it would be easier to use hotwire in order to ensure us for a quad occupancy room!
taradise Posted December 2, 2009 Author Report Posted December 2, 2009 For the second leg of our trip we are now thinking about booking 2 rooms, I can do that on Priceline right? Book two rooms and have it be in the same hotel?
AaronJB Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 Yes, you can bid on 2 rooms via PRICELINE in the same transaction and, if accepted, they would be in the same hotel.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links.
taradise Posted December 2, 2009 Author Report Posted December 2, 2009 Well, we've decided to split up and do 2 rooms. Even being on vaca together for a week is going to be interesting for our family, so 3 nights in 1 hotel room probably wouldn't be a good idea.I'm thinking Priceline would be the cheaper way to go? Esp. now that occupancy isn't an issue.Bidding tomorrow, wish me luck, hopefully I have good things to report!Does anybody happen to know the "going rates" for the 3* and 4* hotels in that time period - Dec. 28th-31st so I know where to start my bids?
thereuare Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 If bidding for two rooms, what is your maximum bid per nite per room? Are you willing to pay more for a higher rated hotel OR is your goal the least expensive 3.5* or better for this stay? Are all three PRICELINE South Beach zones acceptable? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
