I am ariving in Maui three days before the rest of my family - Sisters and Brother in Laws and have no idea where to stay! Have never been to Hawaii before. We will be spending a week in Kapalua - 19th-26th.

I am looking for LOW - $100 Max - priced accommodation with some fun in the area. I will be golfing and exploring and relaxing the days I am alone. Some nightlife would definitely be an asset.

Suggestions on where to stay and bidding stragegy is appreciated. I will have a rental car, so I don't need to be in the same place for the entire three days.

Thanks.

Good evening. :)

What would be the desired star rating? Is there a particular area you would like to try for? Hopefully other posters more familiar with the area can make some suggestions on what areas are best.

Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links.

Star level and location are not that important.... I am looking for a clean place. I will be in a nice place for a week. It's only me and I don't expect to be spending plenty of time in the hotel. I will have a car, so location is not that important.

The Ka'anapali and Wailea zones are the most frequenlty bid, but unfortunately for your situation, most in these areas bid the Resort class properties as they're looking for a place to spend their entire vacation.

While you can find high rated hotels that don't meet your cleanliness standards, and low rated hotels that do, generally speaking, you're going to find the higher rated hotels are a bit 'nicer' (read: clean) than the lower rated hotels. However, with PRICELINE and HOTWIRE you don't know the hotel you will receive, so it's generally advisable to stick with the higher rated properties.

Based upon your needs it doesn't sound as if you need a Resort or anything like that, but i would probably be avoiding the lower rated hotels and trying to stick with a 3.5* (or at least 3*) rated property... depending upon what you're able to get for your budget.

Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly.
