Jojofi Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 I am going to start bid 4* hotels in Paris for 5 nights. My maximum budjet is about $930 including all taxes and costs.I am not sure is my max bid for night then $115+tax ? I would be happy for this price.Any idea what hotels might come from this area Eiffel Tower - Port De Versailles - Montparnasse ? Didnt find tips from your hotels list.I would like to try first Champs Elysees - Opera Quarter West 4*, if no change then also St. Germain - Latin Quarter - Montparnasse. I think this is also ok even locations is not so perfect in Marriott Rive Gauche.About area (Opera Quarter East - Les Halles) I think this area might be good as well..But my first choise is champs E- Opera. I notice there is no re-bid zones in Paris. How should i start my bid to get most lower price for 4 * hotel? Any change to get 5* hotel from PL for this time of year if max bid about $170..?Thank you
brianc_li Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 There is only one 5* in Paris (See list above) and it usually goes for around $200 so you can pretty well rule that out as an option. I'm currently bidding for 4 in Paris in the same areas as you (Although my preference is Opera Quarter East, Les Halles). I'm currently up to $140 without success. This works out around $160 after tax and admin fee. I think I'll hit somewhere between where I am and $150.By all means start lower and work up but, particularly as you are staying on weekdays which are generally more expensive, don't expect a 4* in these areas for much lower than that. You may want to consider separate bids, one for the weekend nights another for the weekdays (Mon-Thu) but obviously that means you my need to change hotels.
thereuare Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 I believe your maximum bid is about $169 which would bring you to a $930 'all-in' price... is this what we should use as your maximum bid?I would like to try first Champs Elysees - Opera Quarter West 4*, if no change then also St. Germain - Latin Quarter - Montparnasse.Did you want to try the Champs Elysees zone first up to your maximum, then if rejected try for the St Germain zone... OR is your goal the least expensive 4* or better in either of these two zones? Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Jojofi Posted November 23, 2009 Author Report Posted November 23, 2009 Hi, I would like to try max bid $169 Champs Elysees, Opera Quarter East - Les Halles and St Germain zone. My goal is the least expensive 4* of these 3 zones.Yes, i am going to use your link to start my bid as i did before :)Thank you all for this great internet page!Splitting is last option, but i dont like to try it not yet.ThanksI found (Orbitz) price Marriot Rive Gauche for $160 (incl.all tax)/night, so i think this hotel max bid should lot of less than 169$ +tax
AaronJB Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 If you do decide to go the Orbitz route after bidding, the coupon code FABSAVE10 (or REVIEW10 is another one) should take 10% off per night for many (although there may be some exceptions) hotels.Thank you for using the site's Orbitz, PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links.
