flannbarr Posted November 22, 2009 Report Posted November 22, 2009 Amenities include a Spa which seems to rule the Intercontinental. It is probably the James. Am I looking at this correctly? I really want the IC.

AaronJB Posted November 22, 2009 Report Posted November 22, 2009 This would likely be the James. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links.
flannbarr Posted November 22, 2009 Author Report Posted November 22, 2009 This would likely be the James. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links.I am coming with my wife and two kids. The James is not what I am looking for.
AaronJB Posted November 22, 2009 Report Posted November 22, 2009 There's a 4* for $69 showing in both the Mag Mile/Streeterville and in the NMA-WT-GC areas when searching for 2/2 for these dates. What kind of hotel would you be more interested in?
flannbarr Posted November 24, 2009 Author Report Posted November 24, 2009 Now the 4.5* star in this area lists amenities as fitness center, restaurant, business center, high speed internet. $99. Is this the Intercontinental?I usually stay in Marriott brand hotels but I was considering the Intercontinental as a change of pace this trip. If it doesn't work out, my alternative is a suite hotel.
AaronJB Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 Please keep all posts on this trip within this thread. Thanks. The 4.5* showing on these dates w/fitness, business, restaurant, internet would be a match for the Conrad or Intercontinental, but would more likely be the Intercontinental. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchase.

I can get the Omni for about $145/night and that is a suite. I assume that the Omni usually doesn't show up on Hotwire.
AaronJB Posted November 26, 2009 Report Posted November 26, 2009 The Omni has shown up on HOTWIRE and PRICELINE, although rather infrequently. If you would like the Omni, I'd suggest using Expedia and coupon code 10NOV, which would take it from $145 down to $135 per night ($10 off per night.)However, I'd rather suggest this deal: Stay 2 nights, get 1 freeThe above link is a Starwood non-refundable "Stay 2 Nights, Get 1 Free" promotion. Search for your dates in Chicago and the Westin River North should be one of the options. This is a beautiful 4* property right on the river. Click "select" and then search for 2 adults for your dates on the next screen. One of the options should be a Club Floor room w/2 beds for $189, 3rd night free = $126 per night average. Here is what the Club Floor offers at this property: http://www.westinchicago.com/accommodation...veclubroom.htmlPlease use the link above if you are interested in the Westin deal or the site's Expedia.com link if you are interested in the Omni + coupon deal. Thanks, and have a happy Thanksgiving.
flannbarr Posted December 1, 2009 Author Report Posted December 1, 2009 Ended up getting the Omni Suites thru Travelzoo for $149 including parking and a $25 food voucher each day. How can you beat it. Thanks for your help.
thereuare Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 Glad you found a great deal that works well for your needs. Thanks for 'closing' this thread with your results.Enjoy your stay.
