Priceline Hotel: 5* Las Vegas (North Strip) Trump

I'm going to Vegas for Saturday night, 12/12. Have been lurking around here for a while, and explored my hotel options through Hotwire. I liked the Hotwire options, but because I'm a smartass, I clicked over to Priceline and threw down a bid for $150/night on a 5 star hotel on the 'strip north' without doing any research on the 'Priceline' boards. (Note to mods - yes, I clicked your helpful pric.eline links to buy my room, this site is great!).

Because I'm new to this site, and didn't grasp that there are separate forums for HOTWIRE and PRICELINE, I didn't think twice. So I got the Trump for $150/night. Too late to change that, but might as well ask some questions -

* Why all the hate for Trump on the board? Is it just the lack of a casino? Or is there something else terrible going on there that I should avoid?

* Did I get screwed on price? I've seen bids for the Trump going in the $85 range. Did I overpay for this? Or will my bid of $150 give me a room slightly nicer than a closet?

Thank you for sharing your results with the board and welcome to the site.

Unfortunately, I would recommend that you call/contact PRICELINE right away. If you booked this for 12/12-14, Orbitz has the Trump for $101 for those dates (12/11-13 is $126 and 12/12 alone is that, too). I would definitely recommend calling right away to try and get an adjustment on that rate.

What are the exact dates of travel?

The negativity towards the Trump appears to be largely due to no casino.

Thank you for using the site's PRICELINE link and for your compliments regarding the board.

Let us know how it goes with contacting PRICELINE (but I would definitely contact PRICELINE, as the hotel is cheaper on Orbitz.)

Enjoy your stay.

There are several huge problems with Trump -

Lack of Casino

Mandatory valet fee

Mandatory resort fee (even though it's nothing like a resort)

and most important of all - It's wayyyyy off the strip

I really wish Priceline would drop it. Trump is the only thing that prevents me from booking North Vegas Strip on Priceline.

If there is a hotel in the zone you're trying to avoid then use HOTWIRE. Since the Trump doesn't have a casino, it's easy enough to avoid this property by choosing a hotel with the Casino icon showing. :)
