Hotwire Hotel: 4* San Francisco (Embarcadero) Hyatt Regency

Hi. I recently booked a room on Priceline at the Hyatt Regency Embarcadaro for $80 for 1/09 - 1/13. I now need a second room for a colleague.

It seems easier to determine where a room will be located using Hotwire. There is a 4* Hotwire in Embarcadaro for $109, but it has an amenity not listed previously - high-speed internet.

Anyone know if this is a confirmed new amenity addition or any other smart ideas?

Currently, Hotwire isn't displaying any available hotels in the Embarcadero zone for your dates. How long ago did you perform your search?

I have posted Priceline Win on the Priceline Board.

I still see the same hotel listed for the embarcadaro - now at $106.

Amenity icons do change occaisionally, and you would be the first to officially report this property as having an internet icon, so there is some risk involved... but i do believe this to be the Hyatt.

From another post on the board for which this hotel was won on Hotwire:

the embarcadero $111/night lists Restaurant(s), Fitness Center, Business Center.

one of the reviews said: Our stay in the Financial District was wonderful. The rooms were pretty clean and well maintained. The cable cars were located right near the hotel.

The above matches some of the Customer Favorite comments for the property i'm seeing when i search for your dates.

What do you think my chances are of getting the same hotel if I bid $80 again for the same dates for just this location. The other 4* hotels seem to be slightly higher end. I see a lot of people getting the Westin, but I know for a fact that it is completely sold out for the conference I am attending.

Trying to measure the risk of re-using Priceline or the risk of not being the first to discover a new internet amenity on Hotwire.

Appreciate your thoughts. This is a terrific board. I am been a selfish viewer for a while. It is fun to contribute.

As far as bidding for it on Priceline, we can't say the chances of it working out in your favor. We've seen bids place months later land the same hotel, we've also seen bids placed back-to-back receive different properties.

You'll have to weigh the additional cost vs. the risk involved... only you and your friend can make that decision.

New Amenity Confirmed!

I just purchased a room on Hotwire for $105 a night at the Hyatt Regency Embarcadaro.

Amenities: Restaurant, Fitness Center, High-Speed Internet, Business Center.

Interesting note - $4 cheaper using IE for Mac rather than my usual Safari.
