For the first time I have tried adding an additional night to an existing Price.lineL reservation.

I called the hotel first to see if there was availability, which there is.

I made the bid: one night tacked on to the beginning of the stay. On the "Buy Your Hotel Room Now" page, everything was based on the original winning price for the room ($110 at the 4* Marriott Rive Gauche).

The response was "We searched and could not find a room at the Marriott Rive Gauche for $110. But if you are willing to pay $128 RIGHT NOW," yadda yadda yadda. Hence, if I want to pay (for the two rooms) some $36 MORE for the night, I can get a room.

Here is my question: should I wait until tomorrow and try again? Or accept the higher fee for one night? I really do not want to start bidding from scratch, because then we might have to change hotels after the first night, which my wife hates. The extra $36 sucks, but my wife in a bad mood for a few hours is a lot worse!

You only get one chance to extend your stay, and the session where you received an offer to pay $128 may have already expired, so you might not have a choice than to bid this stay again. If you still have that browser open you can try to accept the offer, or you can try to extend your stay again, but i'm guessing you'll need to start from scratch and place a new bid (and risk a different hotel). If you're trying for the same hotel you may want to overbid a few dollars and try bidding $128 as that might increase your chances of receiving the same property, although you could still receive any property in the zone.
