I booked a last minute room for $55 hoping it would be at least a 3-star in either the River North-NMA region or the Loop region. Lo and behold, not only did I get a room, but they upped my star level to 3.5 stars! Got the Embassy Suites for $55 before taxes & fees. What a steal for a quality hotel!
