doknek Posted November 12, 2009 Report Posted November 12, 2009 This is our first time visiting NY and having problems with getting hotels in NYC on New Years Eve. The closest and cheapest I found was Hyatt Regency on Hudson which is next to PATH trains that connects to Manhattan. I want to know if I could get this hotel for cheap on Priceline. Is there a way to get this hotel on Priceline instead of getting 4* W. This is the price I am getting at hyatt.com:Check-in Date:Thu 31 Dec, 2009Check-out Date:Sun 03 Jan, 201031-Dec-2009= 287.20 USD01-Jan-2010= 132.00 USD02-Jan-2010= 132.00 USD551.20 USD Total Per RoomAdditional Charges:7.000 Percent tax7.000 Percent occupancy tax628.37 USD Total After Taxes
yellowdog Posted November 12, 2009 Report Posted November 12, 2009 You can't bid on a specific hotel when using PRICELINE. You need to be willing to stay at any 4* or higher in the zone you're bidding at.If they have any inventory on PRICELINE is it the highest rate rate you need to crack in order to win the hotel. And I doubt that you will get a cheap win here. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.
Shea77 Posted November 12, 2009 Report Posted November 12, 2009 The W in Hoboken also has a PATH train just steps away, so does the Westin Jersey City. So any 4* in this zone is OK to walk to the PATH train to Manhattan, not just the Hyatt.
doknek Posted November 12, 2009 Author Report Posted November 12, 2009 Thank you. That is the exact answer I was looking for. I'd give priceline a try for lower price on 4* in jersey city. How long is the commute to Manhattan (exclude rush hour traffic)? Also, I am trying to bid for a 3.5* in MTE/MTW/UWS to see if I get a good price.
