I have never used priceline or hotwire but wanted to look into using when going to LA in December. I am looking for these areas with 4 star and around $100 would be good for a price. Dates are 12/4-12/6. Any first timer instructions would be appreciated... what to expect? where to start bidding? start with just one area? THANKS.

You can bid on one area at a time or use rebidding, which is explained in greater detail at this link: Priceline Re-Bidding Explained

Re-bidding is popular, but is complicated enough to make some first-time users understandably a little nervous.

I'd start at $90 to bid on a 4* in either of these areas, but you may have to go up to $100 +/-.

Thanks for the info...started at $90 w/ $5 increments ended up getting $105 Beverly Hilton for 12/4-12/6. Works for me. Re-bidding was painless but I was scared some thing crazy would happen and i would get booked far from where I wanted. Used your PRICELINE link too.
