When bidding on pricelice, can I specify that I need a room for 4 people? I was told I can only bid on a room, and when I get to the hotel they may not have a room with 2 beds for us. How do I make sure we have at least 2 double beds, Preferably 2 queens at least.

Thanks--

Welcome to BetterBidding :)

No, PRICELINE only guarantee a room for 2 adults. This could mean 1 king or queen bed.

The best thing you can do is to go with HOTWIRE. Search for 3 adults or 2 adults + 1 child. But this don't guarantee 2 beds. You can get 1 bed and 1 sleeping-soffa, pull-out coach etc.

Just post if you have any further questions.

While one can negotiate 2 beds, PRICELINE only guarantees 1 in all areas. This is especially true in NYC, where rooms are infamously small and 2 beds generally go for a premium (someone would be smart to build a hotel in NYC with mostly rooms w/2 beds in order to cater to larger parties; to my knowledge, there isn't a hotel like that.)

With HOTWIRE, if you are 2 adults and want 2 beds, I'd go with 2 adults + 1 child when searching HOTWIRE.

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links.
