AaronJB Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 Welcome to the site. :)NYC is expensive during the pre-Christmas season, and I think one issue is that you are trying for certain properties. The Doubletree, for example, is one of a few properties at that star rating in that area - you could potentially get any of them when you make that bid.2 rooms w/a $170 total budget is unrealistic, so it's best to try and focus on 1 area.Given the requirement of 2 beds, my suggestion would be to go with HOTWIRE instead, and search for 2 adults/1 child - while there isn't going to be one child, indicating 3 people would guarantee bedding for more than 2. There is a 3* in the Midtown Central area on HOTWIRE for these dates with the amenities fitness, pool, restaurant and internet for $133 (the price you see may differ), which would likely be the Holiday Inn Midtown, which is certainly well-located.Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchase.
