Ed A Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 hi guys,i'm looking to book a room via hotwire for 1 night (fri nov 13th). the room i'm targeting is the W in hoboken, and from the description of the place i'm getting, it seems to be the right one (fitness, restaurant, business center, high speed internet, tennis nearby).the rate im getting is $142 + tax. my question is, when you book via hotwire, how do they determine what # of beds you get? ideally i'd need a room with 2 beds, but is there any way to guarantee i'd get 2 beds? otherwise, if it's just one bed, i can get a similar rate by booking on their website. any advice is appreciated.. thanks.
yellowdog Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 Do a search for 3 adults or 2 adults 1 child and see if you get the same hotel. In this way will you get sleeping arrangements for two guests. Please post your outcome for this stay. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.

Ed A Posted November 13, 2009 Author Report Posted November 13, 2009 hiwhen i searched for 2 or 3 guests, i wasnt getting the right hotel. i would either a) not get any hotel, or b.) get a hotel with a similar price ($143) with no tennis icon. the one i got i searched using 1 guest only. i read that if you are a member of the hotels reward program, that sometimes they will grant you extra requests, such as a room with 2 beds instead of one. i just signed up for the starwood rewards program, so i hope that they will give me 2 beds instead of 1. otherwise, someone will have to sleep on the floor.
AaronJB Posted November 13, 2009 Report Posted November 13, 2009 There is a listing coming up in this area lately w/o tennis, which hasn't been ID'd, but given the limited amount of possibilities, I'm guessing it's the W w/o tennis. I'd call ahead for two beds.Enjoy your bday celebration. :)
Ed A Posted November 15, 2009 Author Report Posted November 15, 2009 stayed at the W last night after winning the bid on hotwire. one minor word of warning - the room that you will most likely get is their "cozy" room (small room, 1 king bed, no views). this is fine, but after having stayed in one of their larger "wonderful" rooms in the summer, the difference in the 2 rooms is night and day. the "wonderful" room, besides having 2 beds, is also a lot bigger, and has a bigger bathroom. still, if you dont care about the size of the room, then getting the cheap rate on hotwire is a good way to go.
