Priceline Hotel: 3.5* NYC (ESB) Affinia Shelburne

I wanted a 4* or 3.5* in the ESB or MSG area, because I wanted to be walking distance or a short cab ride to Penn Station. Technically, Penn Station looks like it falls under Chelsea, but there are only 3*, so it was a good rebid option.

Strategy 3.5*

$115 - 4* MSG and ESB - Rejected

$125 - 3.5* MSG and ESB, rebid lower star rating, - Rejected

$130 - 3.5* MSG and ESB, rebid Chelsea - ACCEPTED

I could have better optimized my first two bids, but I was doing this on the fly and didn't think it through. $162 total with taxes. My boss can thank me -- the best on Expedia was $186 all-in for the Radisson Lexington.

Affinia Shelburne looks like a good option, only a couple blocks from the 6 line and walking distance to most of Midtown.
