hi guys!

does anyone has got an idea, why the prices for florida are so high in march? is it the best period for the sunshine state or will the hotel decrease the prices in the new year? what is the reason?

thanks and merry x-mas from germany!

Early March IS a very busy time in S. Florida. A good way to figure out whether priceline is likely to have any inventory is to look at hotwire for the days in question. If hotwire has no deals for the days/cities you want, you're not likely to get lucky on priceline.

As a general rule of thumb, I like to start bidding about $30 less than hotwire for priceline rooms. If I had plenty of time, I'd bid even lower and be patient -- especially if I thought hotwire's rates were higher than "usual."

I have noticed for my dates later in March (24-26) that the rates on Hotwire have been steadily increasing..so much that the hotel that matches up to the Radisson Worldgate or Doubletree is around $149 (I dont remember exactly) I think last time I looked!
