MasonDixon Posted December 20, 2004 Report Posted December 20, 2004 We wanted Kensignton so we started there. Bid was rejected at $70 (worth a try!). Added Mayfair/Soho at $75. Rejected. Added Regent's Park @ $80. Accepted. Hotel gets mixed reviews but I think we got a good deal for 2 nights in London.
thereuare Posted December 20, 2004 Report Posted December 20, 2004 Welcome to BetterBidding!Congratulations on your win... certainly a great deal with the hotel asking $200+/nite!A few suggestions on ways to improve your bidding (if i may)...-you did have a re-bid zone avaialble when bidding the 4* level, using it would have enabled you to immediately bid again for just the Kensington zone. If you're not familiar with re-bidding you can learn more about it in this thread: PRICELINE 72 HOUR RULE. Feel free to ask any question that you may have-when you do have to submit alternate zones, it's sometimes advisable to start over, thus giving you more bids and not risking an overbid. For example, if Regent's Park has lower rates than Kennsington or Soho, you would have never tried those lower amounts. Although starting over with the alternate zones requires more time to go thru the bidding process, it also gives you the opportunity to try lower rates for the additional zones while working your way up to higher bid amounts. Thanks for sharing your results with the board and have a great time in London!
