Hi Everyone,

I am hoping to stay in Venice for the night of Dec. 15. I'm hoping that due to the season and time rates won't be as high as some of the previously mentioned rates of 140-160. I'm happy to stay in a 4 star, would love the Hilton if they do indeed have a free shuttle. Any suggestions on what I should be bidding?

Thanks in advance!

HOTWIRE has a 4* at $104, and a 5* at $149 for your date, so you could use those as your upper limits in bidding via PRICELINE. Although I have to mention that HOTWIRE has a tendency to be a little more generous than PRICELINE in rating hotels - maybe 1/2 a star?

With either PL or HW, you of course won't know the hotel until after you've bid and won (PL) or committed (HW). Sometimes people here can sort out which hotel Hotwire is offering by the amenities, but not always.

Having been in Venice that time of year, a couple of comments - flooding is a possibility so you might want boots, and days are REALLY short. Still, it is Venice and wonderful nonetheless.
