Great White Mennonite Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 Hello,I am from Germany and looking forward to travel to NYC and LV in March 2010.I would like to stay in Manhattan (MSG/TSq-area - close to Penn Station/Macy's/Manhattan Mall...)for 2 nights, then travelling to LV for 3 nights and finally back to Manhattan for another 4 nights.Usually I love to stay at HollandMotorLodg (at NJ-Side of Lincoln-Tunnel). It's a nice, clean and safeMotel incl. breakfast and free Parking (even if I won't have a rental car this time). Rates are approx 105$/night incl. Tax,but you always have to walk 20 min. to the next PATH-station. Travelling to Midtown Manhattan takes some time.Prior to this I usually stayed at the Pennsylvania Hotel (dirty, sticky rooms - good price) or at the Affinia Manhattan (great roomsbut poor rates >200 USD/night).Now I am looking for accommodation in Midtown Manhattan for almost same rate like my motel in NJ. Can this work?Anyway, I have found some hotels on priceline. Does anybody know which Hotels are behind this description?#14-star hotel in Times Square - Theatre DistrictThis hotel features the following amenities:Suite - A guestroom designed for an extended stay and/or that more spacious than the average hotel room. Great White Mennonite Posted October 30, 2009 Author Report Posted October 30, 2009 I would spend so much for a 3*/4* Midtown Hotel when I have to (but lower rates are always welcome). Above mentioned offers are from 03/12/10 to 03/14/10. I guess my favourite would be Wyndham Garden TSq South. Never stayed there before but seems be great value and excellent location. Can you identify?ThanksNorman
thereuare Posted October 31, 2009 Report Posted October 31, 2009 For the Times Square hotels, i believe the 4* is the Doubletree, upgraded from the 3.5* level since it was last reported to the board. The 3* hotel is a match for the Washington Jefferson so that would be my best guess there, but i'll caution that these amenities are quite common for NYC and there could be others at thsi star level showing this amentiy combination. The 3.5* Chelsea property matches previous reports for the Wyndham Times Square South so that would be my best guess for that one... the 3* property has not yet been identified. Each hotel sets their own rate based upon supply/demand at their own property, so it's not uncommon to sometimes see a higher rated hotel prices lower than a lesser rated property. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help.
