Hello again! I am back for the third time over the past 5ish years to bid on NYC. This time for the dates of 1/22/10 to 1/25/10. I have had success which includes receiving the Waldorf for $97/night back in '04 and the Grand Hyatt for $115 in '07. I have done the research and see that prices are down for my dates, including:

This is a slow time of year so $115 may be enough (if not, i suspect you won't be too far off)

Also, to make sure it's done correctly, this is how you can still use our PRICELINE link along with your bonus money:

Just an update. Bid the 4* suggested strategy (to $115) without success. Will try again. I see many wins for 105 from last winter and suspect that I may be a little too far out date wise right now. My bonus money offer expires November 15, so I would like to get something before then.

I haven't used the trip insurance in the past, but I believe it's only for bigger problems - it cannot be used if you just decide not to go. The Doubletree has not yet been reported to the board as a PRICELINE win; only on HOTWIRE.

For Friday, Jan. 22 to Monday, Jan. 25, 2010: Bid 4 * TS, MTE, MTW starting from $100 to $120 with free rebids in $5 increments with no success. My actual bids were $10 less because of the bonus money.
