Netters Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 Hello again! I am back for the third time over the past 5ish years to bid on NYC. This time for the dates of 1/22/10 to 1/25/10. I have had success which includes receiving the Waldorf for $97/night back in '04 and the Grand Hyatt for $115 in '07. I have done the research and see that prices are down for my dates, including:Times Square 4*Hilton Times Square-209Westin Times Square-224W New York-Times Sq.-209Midtown East 4*W New York-179Waldorf Astoria-249Intercontinental Barclay-252Grand Hyatt New York-191Midtown West 4*Hilton New York-199Sheraton Hotel & Towers-197I have planned this bid strategy to begin and also have $10/night in Priceline Bonus Money to use which will be added to my bid.4* TS 85 +UES 90 +Brooklyn 95 Out4* MTE 85 + UES 90 + Brooklyn 95Out4* MTW 85 +UES 90 + Brooklyn 95Out4* TS+MTW+MTE 100 +UES 105OutAnyone think I have a chance of getting a TS, MTW, or MTE 4* for $115 ($105 plus bonus)? And what do you think of the strategy?I will use the betterbidding link as in the past.Thanks.
thereuare Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 Welcome back :)This is a slow time of year so $115 may be enough (if not, i suspect you won't be too far off)Also, to make sure it's done correctly, this is how you can still use our PRICELINE link along with your bonus money:1) click our link to go to PRICELINE2) go to the MY PROFILE >> MY REWARDS section near the top right of their home page3) click the bonus link in the 'my rewards' section of your profile to begin your biddingPlease don't use the link in any emails sent to you. When bidding 4* in NYC you have FIVE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.I would sooner bid as follows (prices are total bid amount so you would deduct $10 from each bid):Select 4* TS, MTE, MTW...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115Any questions feel free to ask. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. Netters Posted November 1, 2009 Author Report Posted November 1, 2009 Just an update. Bid the 4* suggested strategy (to $115) without success. Will try again. I see many wins for 105 from last winter and suspect that I may be a little too far out date wise right now. My bonus money offer expires November 15, so I would like to get something before then.I am also interested in a 3
AaronJB Posted November 1, 2009 Report Posted November 1, 2009 I haven't used the trip insurance in the past, but I believe it's only for bigger problems - it cannot be used if you just decide not to go. The Doubletree has not yet been reported to the board as a PRICELINE win; only on HOTWIRE.Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links.
Netters Posted November 1, 2009 Author Report Posted November 1, 2009 Aaron---This win for Doubletree is on the Priceline boardhttp://www.betterbidding.com/index.php?showtopic=85614&Let me know if I am reading this wrong. Thanks.
AaronJB Posted November 1, 2009 Report Posted November 1, 2009 That should have been posted on the HOTWIRE board.
