vizslahound Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 I want to bid for a room over Thanksgiving (11/21-11/30) on Maui. I strongly prefer the Hyatt as I am a top tier award program member and am upgraded to the best available room at Hyatts. From my reading of the forum the Hyatt has been the only Ka'anapali resort to come up in Sept. throught Nov. Does this seem accurate to you?The nightly rate is $245-260 during that time frame at Hyatt.com. I saw somebody had gotten the Hyatt for a few nights overlapping my stay for $115 or $120.Thanks for any advice you can provide.
thereuare Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! The Hyatt is the most frequently won property in this zone for the timeframe you've indicated, but there have been a few reports of the Sheraton back in September. However, even though the Hyatt is won frequently, there is no assurance that is the hotel that you will receive... you could win any hotel in the zone Resort class rated by PRICELINE. As well, the Hyatt may not honor your status on an opaque purchase. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. vizslahound Posted October 30, 2009 Author Report Posted October 30, 2009 Info for other Hyatt Diamonds: In the past I have had priceline stays and they have honored status. They also honor staus on award point stays and certificate stays.I understand that there is no guarantee of hotel. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks!

thereuare Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 At the Resort level you have TWO re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.(NOTE: 're-bid zone1' is not the same as priceline's Zone1, 're-bid zone2' is not the same as priceline's Zone2, etc, etc)While this may be too low, I'd start with the following:Select Resort Kaanapali...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $115, if rejected close browse and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect Resort Kaanapali and re-bid zone2...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $125Any questions feel free to ask. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
