talljames33 Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 Business Center and High Speed Internet. I expected the Inn of Chicago with these amenities, but I guess the list changed. $74 per night from 10/30-11/02.Anyway, I booked this hotel just now. Used the great information gathered by the people on this forum to get a much better deal than I have in the past. So, I decided to join and provide my input as thanks to you all. One important criteria I discovered that I do not believe is being used to distinguish between possible hotels is the age requirement! I believe this can be very useful because unlike the list of amenities, I would expect this not to vary between searches. Also, it can be useful for distinguishing between hotels that have common amenity sets. Although I was able to identify the W Chicago Lakeshore using just the amenity information, I noticed that it has a 21+ age requirement for the primary guest. There was another mag mile hotel I saw that had fitness, restaurant, business, and internet that I could not identify, but maybe I could have if I knew which hotels were 21+ and which were 18+. Since this forum attempts to use all possible given information to identify these hotels with hidden names, I think we can also use the age requirement as another clue. So, I will add that for the Holiday Inn Express Mag Mile, the age requirement is 18+. Hope this helps! Also, I have a question... I observed price drops in some of the hotels (actual drops, not just variation) even a few days before the check-in dates, and I'm wondering what is typically the best time to book a hotel on hotwire? Not too early so that the hotels are willing to post low prices, but not too late that I run out of options...Oh, by the way, the age requirement info can be found on the hotel details page below the map and car rental info under "Know before you go"

hellyea Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 I think its a great idea to add age requirements when people report it -- it may not help in all cases, but definately can't hurt. Good find. I see a 3* for $59 in the same area for the same dates though -- comp breakfast, business center, and high speed internet -- looks like the same hotel as you got. If you get useful information from this site (which I'm sure is why you're here) be sure to use the links in the support section to book your room!!!
talljames33 Posted October 29, 2009 Author Report Posted October 29, 2009 Yeah I saw the $59 listing earlier this week, but it wasn't listed yesterday, and so I ended up paying $74. I actually thought it would be a different hotel (possibly Inn of Chicago) since it was listed with a different set of amenities and a different price, but I guess those things can change from day to day. Now it appears that Hotel Cass is available again for $59. I guess I should have just gotten it earlier or later if both of them really are the same. Oh well, I'm still happy getting this deal so close to my travel dates.
