CitizenShay Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 I'm thinking of booking this offer on a 3* Hotel in the ESB area:$169Empire State Building AreaSuiteWorkout facilitiesLaundryKitchenette4/5 TripAdvisor ReviewTraveling 11/2-11/4. Anyone know which hotel this might be? thanks in advance!_SS
CitizenShay Posted October 29, 2009 Author Report Posted October 29, 2009 BTW, I have been using the links suggested on the site and will do so when I book my hotel.I'm also thinking that the hotel I'm asking about is Murray Hill East Suites, which I probably wouldn't stay at from what I've read. Supposedly have uncomfortable beds (according to TA reviews).
thereuare Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 These amenities match the Murray Hill East Suites, but the Tripavisor information insn't consistent with this property so that raises a shadow of doubt on this ID. The TA information shown by HOTWIRE is not 'real time' and is only updated once a month so it's possible the TA info has changed since HOTWIRE last updated their information. The Eastgate Tower has not yet been reported to the board but that property is a pretty good fit with these amenities, so either of these properties would be my best guess. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. CitizenShay Posted October 29, 2009 Author Report Posted October 29, 2009 Thanks for the insights! I'm going to try another search today on HOTWIRE since I realized I'd need hi-speed internet in the room. Also, I'm not sure if I'd do the PRICELINE name your own price thing. like seeing choices instead of a hotel being chosen for me (does the site do something like HOTWIRE at all?). I'll get back onto HOTWIRE at work, via the link on this site, and book something else.
thereuare Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 Both PRICELINE and HOTWIRE are considered "opaque" in the sense that you don't know the name of the hotel until after your purchase... but each operates different, PRICELINE is a bidding mechanism whereas HOTWIRE shows you the price and amenities. Thanks for using our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your purchases. Keep us updated and let us know what you find on your new HOTWIRE searches later today.
