Seemingly a very nice hotel but important to note that it is NOT IN SORRENTO. The Hotwire map clearly extends up the coast specifically to include this hotel which is well away from just about everything. Would have paid more to actually be in Sorrento but unfortunately I was the guinea pig. Usually have very good success identifying hotels but this one was so far away from Sorrento it missed my radar. Even if I had looked at this hotel, I probably would not have identified it as the likely property since TripAdvisor doesn't include Business Center under its amenities (although it does have one) and Hotwire doesn't list a restaurant (although it does have one). You win some, you lose some.

I see on their web site:

"Free shuttle bus service, from the Hotel to Castellammare di Stabia, Vico Equense and Sorrento, available at scheduled times."

And I personally think driving in Italy is pretty terrifying.

Looks like a beautiful hotel, in a beautiful area of Italy. Might work very well for you.

Thanks - we're hopeful. From what we read though, it is not a safe area to walk from and the "walkable" train station is closed for the season. We'll be at the mercy of the shuttle or taxis, which are quite expensive even for a short ride to the next closest train station from what we've read. If the shuttle service is dependable, we'll be fine. Hopefully this information will allow the next person can make an informed choice.

If the shuttle service is dependable this could work out to be a very nice deal.. keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best (although you seem to taking it in stride, which is the best way to travel and the right attitude in life)
