hcm Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 Very nice hotel and a very enjoyable stay. We drove to Dallas and parked in the garage (for just $5 per day or exit, whichever is greater), the garage is located behind the hotel and is very easy to access - the garage opens into the indoor shopping mall/skating rink and the hotel opens onto the other side, so in bad weather you never have to get out in the weather. The valet parking was about $22 a day so self-park was a no-brainer.Hotel lobby and rooms are very nice; many overlook the atrium and skating rink while others look over the city. They do have a lot of parties and dances in the hotel so it can be loud in the lobby, but we never heard a thing in our room. This hotel is within easy walking distance of the arts district of Dallas, which is brand new and fabulous. If your destination is the arts district (opera, symphony hall, performing arts high school, theaters, etc etc.), and ours was, then you literally will never need a car or cab, you just walk - so this was a fantastic hotel choice. Finally, they gave me starpoints (their frequent guest program) for the stay. Surprising since you usually don't earn points for a priceline stay, but I verified the points are in my account so at least this time it worked.
hcm Posted November 2, 2009 Author Report Posted November 2, 2009 I said above that it appeared that I received Starwood points for my Priceline stay. I have seen my statement and I only got points for the incidental dollars spent at the hotel, but not for the stay. Just wanted to clear that up - it is indeed true that you won't earn points for a priceline stay!
