hcm Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 Had late flight in and early out with a daylong meeting in between, so decided to stay right at LGA instead of staying in the city this time. Because LGA hotels are so close to the airport, getting in will be a breeze on the subway. And not bad saying in NYC for $75 a night anyway.I was going for as low a price as possible, and would have been very satisfied with either of the 2.5* LGA hotels usually sold on Priceline, and there had been very little reported bid activity on Betterbidding, so I bid low and hoped for the best. For a 2.5* my only re-bid zone was Bayside, which only has 2* hotels. As always used the link at top right of betterbidding to start my bids.So I bid $65, rejectedbid $70, rejectedwaited a daybid $70, rejected but got a counteroffer of $92. I never accept counteroffers.bid $75, got it. They upgraded me to a 3* - Holiday Inn.Turns out the Holiday Inn is even more convenient - it's across from Shea and just a couple blocks from the 7 line, so I don't even need to take a bus - just straight shot subway in. Should be smooth. Gets great ratings too.Check-In Date: Tuesday, November 3, 2009Check-Out Date: Thursday, November 5, 2009Priceline Customer Service Number: 1-800-657-9168Hotel Name: Holiday Inn Laguardia Airport37-10 114th StreetCorona, New York 11368718-651-2100Your Offer Price: $75.00Number of Rooms: 1Number of Nights: 2Subtotal: $150.00Taxes: $29.54Fees: $10.18Total Charges*: $189.72
