Gruber99 Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 Looking for a 4* in NYC for the 3 nights of 12/21 - 12/23 although we'd be willing to drop to 3.5* or 3*.Budget is $130 per night.Order of zone preference is as follows: Central Park, Grand Central, Empire State Building, Midtown Central, Midtown East, Chelsea-Madison Square Garden, and Times Square. Thanks!
thereuare Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!"Grand Central" is not a PRICELINE zone, to avoid any confusion please list the zone(s) that you're willing to accept by PRICELINE name. (and also clarify if "Central Park" is really "Central Park South")Also, is zone more important than price? In other words, did you want to bid up to your limit for a 4* hotel in your first zone choice before attempting a bid in your second zone choice, etc, etc OR is your goal the least expensive 4* or higher in any of the acceptable zones? (then if that is rejected try for a 3.5* in any acceptable zone, etc, etc)Let us know the above adn we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Gruber99 Posted October 27, 2009 Author Report Posted October 27, 2009 Preference is for 4* over price or a preferred zone.If we can't get 4* in CPS, then we're willing to bid other zones. If we can't get 4* in any zones, then we'll lower to 3.5* in CPS at a low price, bid back up to $130 and expand zones. If we fail, again, then we'll try for 3*.Zones are: CPS, ME, ESB, MW, CA, TS, UES, UWS, MSGThanks for your help.
thereuare Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 To confirm...You want to bid up to your limit for a 4* in CPS, then if that is rejected, a 4* in any of the other listed zones is acceptable (in other words, you're willing to pay more for a 4* in CPS, but if that is rejected, a 4* in any of the other acceptable zones is your next preference)So your preferences are:4* CPS4* any other listed zone3.5* CPS3.5* any other listed zoneDo we have it correct? Also, CA = Chelsea? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Gruber99 Posted October 28, 2009 Author Report Posted October 28, 2009 Correct and correct. Also, wondering what your thoughts are on what we will likely win in the proposed price range.
thereuare Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 There is no way to predict the hotel you will receive with PRICELINE... you can receive any hotel in the zone you select at the star rating (or higher) that you choose. If you're looking to take a guess at the hotel you may receive then you should consider HOTWIRE where you have the ability to do so (although still no guarantees). If you want to try bidding on PRICELINE, at the 4* level you have FOUR re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* CPS...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* ME, ESB, MW, TS, UWS...Bid $105, if rejected CPS zone...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $128, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130Any questions feel free to ask. If the above is rejected we'll revise to try for a 3.5* next. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
