WILL133333 Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 I am trying to plan a trip to Vegas from 12/19/2009-12/23/2009 (4 nights) in a 5 star hotel on the north strip through Travelocity. I've done some research and believe that the only 5 stars available in this area are Trump, Wynn, Encore, Venetian, and Palazzo. Is this correct? If so I also have found that Trump is currently going for under $100 a night. If I place a bet of more than what Trump is going for but less that all the other 5 stars in that location, am I guaranteed to get one in the other hotels? Or can Travelocity give me a better than basic room at Trump for my bid? If I bid 110 and Trump was going for 96 (basic room) could they give me the next better room at Trump for $110? Is there any way to guarantee not to get Trump? I dont mind any of the other 5*. Thank you.

AaronJB Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 If you bid more in an attempt to not get the Trump, a VERY possible result is that you'll still get the Trump, only paying more than was probably required to (in other words, overbid.)
thereuare Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 Why not use HOTWIRE and purchase a hotel that shows a Casino icon... since the Trump doesn't have a Casino, you know that it won't be the Trump :)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. I didnt think they would accept a bid that is higher than what they actually offer the hotel for? Or would they accept my bid and just give me a better room?
WILL133333 Posted October 27, 2009 Author Report Posted October 27, 2009 I didnt know Trump didn't have a casino...thanks for the tip! Do you know what are the 5* hotels in that zone on HOTWIRE??
thereuare Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 You can see all the hotels reported to the board in this Hotwire Las Vegas Hotel List.If you do a HOTWIRE search for your dates and room occupancy, do any strip properties appear within your desired star rating, budget, and zone? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
