morz Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 Hi all,I was wondering if you could give me some advice with Priceline. We are travelling to New York on the 7th to 21st December and want to stay at a 4* hotel with a Gym and Wi-fi. I've looked on the forum for a list of zones with 4* hotels but I can't find any only the map with everything on and no star labels? The comfort of the hotel is a bit more important than location so any advice on best zones would be hugely appreciated as this is the first time using Priceline.com (we live in the UK). Thanks for your help. We are booking tomorrow so I will post back findings! Cheers
thereuare Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! As per this Priceline 4 Star Hotels link... a Fitness Center is a feature that will be included among 4* properties. Note that Hi-Speed Internet is NOT a listed amenity, so this would not be guarantees, although i'd be surprised if a 4* hotel did not offer this feature. Is this a chance you're willing to accept? If not you could use HOTWIRE where you'll know for certain if a hotel offers Internet and/or Fitenss based upon the icons shown before your purchase. Also, 2 weeks is a long stay in Manhattan, is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. morz Posted October 24, 2009 Author Report Posted October 24, 2009 Hi thereuare,Thanks for the reply and link. I will certainly use the links to PRICELINE you gave me.I think wi-fi is probably going to be at a 4* but if it's not then i'll risk it I think. In your opinion do you think my budget is realistic for that time of year?Do you have any hotels you would recommend to go for? I'm lookng for good Tripadvisor ratings in the 80% + region
thereuare Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 Your budget is possible... but more than likely a bit of a stretch for the complete stay. The second half of your stay is likely to be cheaper than the first half of your stay, which is why i had suggested/asked if SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID was an option.Your budget is more than likely enough for a 3.5* if you only wanted to bid on the complete stay. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
