Celimel Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 Hi,I've been looking for a hotel in NY for the period between 11/02 and 11/06 and I found a 3* hotel on Hotwire. It's in Central Park Area, 142$/night and the amenities are Fitness Center and High Speed Internet. As this hotel isn't listed, I was wondering if anyone had a clue on its identity ? I just hope it's not the Best Western President.Apparently, it has 4/5 on TripAdvisor. Thanks in advance, I will make sure to use the HOTWIRE link to purchase.
thereuare Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! This property has not yet been reported to the board. However, the Best Western President is located at 234 West 48th Street, which is not in this zone, so it wouldn't be this hotel (or are you refering to a different Best Western property?)Are you familiar with NYC and/or have a reason to be in this particular area? This zone goes pretty far north which makes it a little inconveient for the average visitor, and i would sooner recommend one of the more centrally located midtown properties for just a little more. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you ultimately decide to do for this stay or if we can be of further help. Celimel Posted October 24, 2009 Author Report Posted October 24, 2009 Thank you really much for your answer !Actually, this is our first visit to NY. We already have 2 nights booked at the Embassy Suites, and we are still looking for these 4 nights. I have to admit I didn't really pay attention to the zone this hotel is, it's the price that really caught my eye. I'll continue "investigating" and will use your links if I find something interesting on HOTWIRE.
thereuare Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 If you let us know what parameters you're looking for (budget, star rating, zones, etc) we'll try to be of further help.Did you book the Embassy Suites directly with the hotel or was that a PRICELINE / HOTWIRE purchase? (if the latter please post your win to the board as a NEW TOPIC)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. (and your searches too) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Celimel Posted October 24, 2009 Author Report Posted October 24, 2009 We're looking for a hotel preferably in Manhattan, around 200$/night. We'd like at least 3* on Hotwire as I understood that 2* can be "dangerous" (as 1* does not exist). Complimentary breakfast would be a plus but isn't essential. The location on Manhattan isn't that important, we just want to be near a subway station. We're hoping to find a bargain, that's why we are still waiting. If we don't find a hotel in our prices, we will pick a hotel in Brooklyn, which will of course be a bit far (I guess), but less expensive. As you can read, we're not very difficult, we're just looking for a hotel with a "reasonable" price :)
thereuare Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 Any thoughts about the Holiday Inn on 57th St for ~$185/nite... or if price is a factor and you're flexible why not try bidding on PRICELINE?Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
