goofyzgal Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 I apologize in advance if this type of question has been asked multiple times. Newbie here, never rented a car before.I need to rent a car Dec. 20-27 from MCO. I have seen very high prices on all the major sites ($700 and up) due to the holidays I imagine.I clicked on the link from here for PRICELINE and put in a ridiculous bid of $19 day for a midsize, pick up time 2:30pm on the 20th, return at 6am on the 27th. From what I can tell, my offer was accepted and was given a price at $205 with tax. This seems too good to be true. Before I enter my credit card information I need to know if this is INDEED too good to be true. Are there going to be hidden fees? I have tried to read and understand all the fine print and I realize there may be more costs involved, but surely not up to the $700 level. And while I would prefer to be able to pick the car up onsite at the airport I realize that I may have to take a shuttle somewhere off site. Is there any way to try to get onsite?I would love to get this price, but want to make sure before I lock in. Thank you so much for all your help and thanks to my friends at Tourguidemike for suggesting this site.G.
thereuare Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!Your bid has not necessarily been accepted... you're looking at the "review" page to make sure that all your information is correct. PRICELINE doesn't check to see if your bid is high enough until after you put in your credit card information and click the "Buy My Rental Car Now" link. Thanks for using our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your purchase.Let us know how your bidding goes and/or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
goofyzgal Posted October 21, 2009 Author Report Posted October 21, 2009 Ahhh. That makes sense. Thanks so much for your help.
