Adikt Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 started a new topic :)I am currently bidding on a Downtown St Pete hotel for this weekend(10/23-10/25)...problem being i need to be within a very short distance to the Salvador Dali Museum as i am performing there. the 4* Renaissance Vinoy seems like the only Priceline hotel in that radius, of any star rating. Going down to 3 gets me a chance of a 15 minute drive which is not cool. I've seen the Vinoy go for 60-68 dollars in the past couple of months on here...The most i would LIKE to pay is 65/night...but i know i won't find even a decent hotel in the downtown St Pete area for less than 75 (like in person)so i guess i could go up to there but it's stretching my budget. ...am i missing something simple, or should i just bite it & bid a bit higher cus it'll still be cheaper than getting a Holiday Inn on the spot...?many thanks in advance!
thereuare Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 First a 'warning' that you could receive any hotel in the zone that PRICELINE rated 4* (or higher)If this risk is acceptable i would bid up to the price of your next best option. As well, you have SEVEN re-bid zones available when bidding 4* in this region, so plenty of opportunities to start low and gradually increase your bid.
