pixie123
This is my first post/question . . . hope I'm doing it right. I have a question. I used Betterbidding/Priceline about a month ago or so. I had good luck right off the bat and was very happy. I'm leaving for San Antonio, TX in a few days. There are 9 hotels with a star 4 rating right on the Riverwalk which is where I want to be. Looks like the Marriott Plaza is the only one not on the riverwalk. Looking for guidance on a bid. I would rather bid a bit too high and get what I want then to bid a bit too low and get the one hotel off the riverwalk (4 star). I would take any of the other 8, though have heard good things about the Marriott Riverwalk. My dates are 10/29 and 10/30 (2 nights) for 2 people. Thank you! Link to comment

pixie123
I have a question. I used Betterbidding/Priceline about a month ago or so. I read other's posts and then clicked over to Priceline from BetterBidding. I had good luck right off the bat and was very happy (see previous priceline win). thereuare
With PRICELINE you can't target or avoid a particular hotel... you need to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star level (or higher) that you select. If you're trying to target/avoid a specific property HOTWIRE can be a better option as you can often take an educated guess, or exclude a property from the possibilities (ie- HOTWIRE shows a pool icon and the hotel you're trying to avoid doesn't have a pool), based upon the amenities shown.I'd start with HOTWIRE to see if there is anything within your desired budget and star rating which you can somewhat safely determine is not the hotel you're trying to avoid.Let us know what you find and/or how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. pixie123
Thanks for the info. I'll try and give HOTWIRE a try. Link to comment
my3kids
I would not worry about that hotel not actually being on the Riverwalk. It is right there. I would never have considered off the water. Link to comment
