Scott88 Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 I have spent the past week bidding up to $65 each day and coming up with nothing. Any suggestions? Do you think I'm likely to hit on a room at this rate or lower as the 27th gets closer? Thanks for any help!

Scott88 Posted October 20, 2009 Author Report Posted October 20, 2009 For $65, I tried 3* and above. Frankly, I'd be okay with a 2* if I could get that for around $55 a night (and I even tried bidding that way). However, from what I gather looking at the hotel list, the Philadelphia Downtown area doesn't have any 2* or 2.5* properties on PRICELINE. Not sure what I should do. I'm going to be in town to see Pearl Jam, and I already have a room at the Radisson for 10/30 and 10/31, but I need a room for these three nights at a good rate!
thereuare Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 ...from what I gather looking at the hotel list, the Philadelphia Downtown area doesn't have any 2* or 2.5* properties on PRICELINE.This isn't the case, as per the comments at the top of the Priceline Hotel List:This list is NOT a complete list of all hotels that Priceline offers in this area, it is ONLY a compilation of hotels that have already been reported on this forum. Hotels are added/removed by Priceline all the time, and star ratings can change at ANY time.If PRICELINE makes a star level available to bid in a given zone, it should be assumed that they have hotels there at that star rating.I can't say if rates will go down, or up, in the next week, but i suspect if a hotel was 'desperate' to fill rooms they would already have lowered their rates to a more attractive level. With the above noted, i don't think you're too far off, $75-$90 may be enough... or are there other zones (like University or the Airport) which would work well for your plans? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.PS- if you booked the Radisson thru PRICELINE or HOTWIRE it would be appreciated if you posted your results to the board. Scott88 Posted October 20, 2009 Author Report Posted October 20, 2009 Thanks for the post. I will keep that in mind. I may end up in the Airport zone due simply to price considerations (although I wish there was a way to make sure I could get the Holiday Inn Stadium, because that would be perfect).I booked the Radisson for a special Pearl Jam Ten Club rate of $75/night directly through the hotel.
