Hotwire Hotel: help id 2.5* hotel in merida yucatan

since i've never use HOTWIRE for mexico, i want to know if the following is a good option

merida, yucatan

from 11/10 to 11/18 2 adults 1 child $49

Unfortunately this property has not yet been reported to the board (we don't see many purchases in this area)

Not sure what it is that you're looking for, but I would be a bit cautious with a 2.5* HOTWIRE offering in Mexico (just as i would in Europe)... coudl be a real crapshoot in regards to what you'll end up with and just like in Europe, i'd stick with the higher rated hotels.

If you're considering this, given that it's for an extended stay, you may want to see if this property appears for the first (or last) nite of your stay and then again for the balance. If so, you could then purchase the first (or last) nite in order to 'look behind the curtain' and see the name of the hotel... if it's acceptable go ahead and purchase the balance of your stay, if not, make alternate plans for the rest of your trip.
