CPOT Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 Hello.. I was wondering if there is a way to target receiving the Westin in the Magnificent Mile in Chicago by bidding on Priceline? Also, is it common that the ability to select the star rating box on priceline does not work? Basically, any suggestions on receiving the best price for a 4* or better hotel in Chicago for the dates 11/07/09 to 11/10/09 would be greatly appreciated. I'm a first time user of HOTWIRE or PRICELINE. Thanks!! :)
AaronJB Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 Welcome to the site. :)1. ) There is no way to target a particular property on PRICELINE, which is a trade-off for the discounted rate.2. ) What are you trying to select exactly where the star rating is not working?3. ) What would your budget be per night (w/tax?)4. ) Would you be willing to accept a different hotel besides the Westin?5. ) Are you willing to bid for either the River North/NMA area or the Millennium Park/Loop/Grant Park area on PRICELINE or would you prefer one over the other? Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchase.
CPOT Posted October 20, 2009 Author Report Posted October 20, 2009 HI!Thanks for your quick reply!!The star rating selection simply could not be selected.. now it is working. My budget per night is maximum 90$ with all the fees. I would take another hotel but would like a very confortable stay. I was trying to somehow target a 4.5* via Priceline... is it possible?I would prefer River North/NMA area with Priceline.
AaronJB Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 There is nothing above 4* in Chicago on PRICELINE. There are 5* hotels in Chicago, but they do not participate with the service. (The 5*'s do not participate with HOTWIRE either.) Again, keep in mind with PRICELINE that if you bid for a 4* in the River North/NMA area, you have to be willing to accept any of the 4*'s in the area. With that said, I would recommend starting at $65 for a 4* in the River North/NMA area for these dates. That may be too low, but it's a reasonable enough opening bid that it is worth trying. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchase.
