strataprop Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 :) I just "won" the Sheraton Downtown Denver Hotel on PRICELINE for $63 per night from 10-22-09 through 10-24-09. I am not happy because (1) it is under construction and (2) it is a 3 1/2 star hotel at best (Hotwire even has it as a 3 star hotel). Is there anything I can do?
strataprop Posted October 19, 2009 Author Report Posted October 19, 2009 Btw, I noticed that this "win" was just posted in the calendar of wins with the Sheraton listed as a 3 Star hotel (rather than as a 4 Star hotel).
thereuare Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 Thank you for sharing your results with the board.Sorry to hear you're disappointed with the results. Star ratings are subjective, so not too much you can do about it i'm afraid, but you could try contacting PRICELINE and let them know you don't agree with the star rating... let them know that the hotel is under construction and try to give specific examples of major online booking agencies that rate the hotel less than 4 stars. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. If you make any headway let us know. strataprop Posted October 20, 2009 Author Report Posted October 20, 2009 I callled Priceline and they called the hotel while I was on hold. The hotel told them the construction would not interfere with my stay as it was now confied to the parking garage (even though I am parking a car there and do not like to have to use valet). Thus, PRICELINE wouldn't do anything. I got the impression that if teh hotlel had been willing to cancel my reservation they would have as well. PRICELINE did later e-mail me, however, a coupon good for $10 towards my next bid.
AaronJB Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 Thank you for letting us know how it went.
