baijingma Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 Won this bid using PRICELINE link from your site :) -- won on 2nd or 3rd try, bidding about one month in advance of our stay.I have stayed in this hotel before and liked it, but have not been there in recent years.Have others been able to discern any pattern regarding the lead time (how far in advance of your travel dates you are bidding on the room?) and winning bids? I see some people getting better deals if bidding only 3 days in advance, but others who bid two months in advance have done just as well, while bidders in the in-between times seems to do less well.Comments anyone?amending my post -- I gave dates and price in the subject line but they did not appear -- here they are10/25/09-10/27-09 for $119 (2 rooms)
thereuare Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!Congratulations on your success and thank you for sharing your results with the board. In regards to bidding early vs. late, there is no answer as one would need to know how actual demand will come in relative to expected demand.... rates are constantly adjusted based upon hotel occupancy levels and days left to sell the room. My advice is to begin bidding as soon as your plans are firm, but know what a good deal is for your dates, and make sure you don't overbid. For a further discussion see the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay.
