DaLuc
Hi there,I am trying to ID the following hotels from Hotwire:Los Gatos2.5*, $87/nightComp BreakfastFitness CenterRestaurantBusiness CenterGolf NearbyCampbell2.5* $79/nightComp BreakfastLaundryHi-speed internetGolf Nearby3* $99/nightComp BreakfastRestaurantBusiness CenterHi-speed internetI am coming in to town for my brother's wedding. The wedding is in Los Gatos. My mom lives in Felton and another brother lives in Santa Cruz, so I don't want to be driving all over for the weekend. I would prefer to stay in a 2.5 or 3 star and up facility, but also don't want to spend more than $50-$60/night. Any help would be appreciated! Link to comment

DaLuc
HI,We are not strict about our budget. If we need to spend $80 or $90 to avoid a place like the Knight's Inn in Santa Cruz then we will definitely pay more.I tried bidding on Priceline for the Campbell area 4* using the 3 re-bid zones (Milpitas, San Jose South, and Newark) starting at $43, $46, $49, to no avail. Can you suggest a good Priceline bidding strategy? I have a brother in Santa Cruz proper, my mom's in Felton, my other brother is in Mt. View, my dad's in Menlo Park, and the wedding is in Los Gatos, so we have a pretty large geographic area to choose from. I'd prefer to be closer to the wedding in Los Gatos and the Felton area to being further north by Menlo Park.Any idea on the ID's of those two Campbell hotels? Thanks so much! Link to comment
thereuare
Neither of the Campbell properties of the above have been identified. If you want to try bidding on PRICELINE again which zone(s) are you willing to accept, at what star level, and what is your maximum bid? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Colfax
Since the wedding is in Los Gatos why not try bidding in Los Gatos (rather than Campbell) on PRICELINE?In their retail section Priceline has these in Los Gatos for your dates:4* Hotel Los Gatos $2193* Toll House Hotel $1942.5* Los Gatos Lodge $99The $49 you already bid in Campbell might be enough for the 2.5* in Los Gatos. I doubt $49 will be enough for the 3* or 4*. Link to comment
DaLuc
Hi there,Looking for rooms for this weekend and want to try Priceline again...Can you suggest a bidding strategy?would prefer 3* and upfirst choice of area is: Cupertino, Mt View, San Jose, Sunnyvale, but could stay in Milpitas and South San Jose if need be. Definitely don't want to be in Fremont or Redwood City.dates 10/24-10/26one roommax bid $70 but would prefer lower if possibleThanks so much in advance! Link to comment
thereuare
would prefer 3* and upAre you willing to pay more for a higher rated hotel or are you seeking the least expensive 3* or better?Cupertino, Mt View, San Jose, Sunnyvale, but could stay in Milpitas and South San Jose if need beDid you first only want to bid for Cupertino, Mt View, San Jose, and Sunnyvale up to your limit, then if rejected, try including Milpitas and/or South San Jose... or is price ultimately the most important factor and the least expensive in any of these zones is the ultimate objective?Let us know the above and we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. DaLuc
Hi Thereuare,Thanks for the quick reply! We'd like to have the least expensive 3* or better. If we end up having to pay $70 we'd prefer that it be for a 4* somewhere.Ultimately the lower price is most important, we can drive a bit further if need be. Our schedule isn't tight or time restrictive. Thanks!!! :) Link to comment

If we end up having to pay $70 we'd prefer that it be for a 4* somewhere.I'm assuming then that your gameplan is to bid up to $70 for a 3*, then if that is rejected change your star level to 4* and bid higher? Also, it sounds as if you are interested in the Milpitas and South San Jose if it's available for less than the other zones. If all the above is correct, i'd proceed as follows:Select 3* Cupertino, Mt View, San Jose...Bid $40, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINE Select 3* Sunnyvale, Milpitas, South...Bid $40, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINE Select 3* Sunnyvale, Mt View, San Jose...Bid $45, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINE Select 3* Cupertino, Milpitas, South...Bid $45, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINE Select 3* Cupertino, Milpitas, San Jose...Bid $50, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINE Select 3* Sunnyvale, Mt View, South...Bid $50, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINE Select 3* Cupertino, Mt View, South...Bid $55, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINE Select 3* Sunnyvale, Milpitas, San Jose...Bid $55, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINE Select 3* Cupertino, Mt View, San Jose, Sunnyvale...Bid $60, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINE Select 3* Cupertino, Mt View, San Jose, Milpitas...Bid $60, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Cupertino, Mt View, San Jose, South...Bid $60, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Sunnyvale, Milpitas, South, San Jose...Bid $65, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINE Select 3* Sunnyvale, Milpitas, South, Cupertino...Bid $65, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINE Select 3* Sunnyvale, Milpitas, South, Mt View...Bid $65, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINE Select 3* Sunnyvale, Milpitas, South, San Jose, Cupertino, Mt ViewBid $70Any questions feel free to ask. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. DaLuc
Hi,I feel bad you went to all that work and then I had the fastest bid ever on priceline!Accepted at 3* for $40 at the Holiday Inn San Jose after the first bid. While I'm not over the moon about the hotel we sure can't beat the price. Hopefully the tripadvisor reviews are wrong and it's a decent place. Thanks so much for your help!!! Really appreciate it and your promptness in answering posts! :) Link to comment
