decibel08 Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 been lurking for a while but decided i might need some help with this one.i'm looking for a deal on a 3* or higher in midtown (in order of pref: MTE, Empire State, Chelsea, MSG, MTW, CPS).when browsing earlier i was fixated on the Roosevelt (4*) on my dates for $140 as shown in the win calendar but i've had no luck getting that with all sorts of bid combinations. if i'm not willing to go above $150/night what neighborhood will i have to expand to while maintaining 3* or higher ?thanks for any ideas.
thereuare Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 My first thought was that you'd have to stay outside the city, but i did find what i think is a very good deal:Search HOTWIRE for your dates and there is a 2.5* in the ESB zone with a very good TA rating of 4.5/5.0 with the following amenities: Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business for $119/nite. This matches previous reports for the Hampton Inn 35th Street so that would be my best guess. It's a fairly new property and gets very good reviews.I don't think you're going to find anything else remotely close to this price and unless you're considering staying outside Manhattan, this is your best bet, imo.If this works for you, please use our HOTWIRE link to begin your purchase.Let us know your thoughts and/or how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
decibel08 Posted October 16, 2009 Author Report Posted October 16, 2009 thank you so much for that tip! i just booked it (using your HOTWIRE link) for two nights from 10/24 to 10/26 at $119 per night. it is quite a relief to head into a 2.5* with that much knowledge and positive reviews to back me up. and the location is perfect for my stay. thanks !
AaronJB Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 Congratulations on your success! That is an absolutely crazy good deal for this time of year in NYC! Plus, free breakfast on top of it.Thank you for sharing your results with the board and using the site's HOTWIRE link.Enjoy your stay.
decibel08 Posted October 20, 2009 Author Report Posted October 20, 2009 ok so my last question would be how can i get the hampton inn to give me points credit with hhonors for a hotwire rate stay ? probably can't, but thought i'd ask.
thereuare Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 Ask at check-in if they'll enter your HHonors number for any incidentals you charge to the room... but generally speaking, PRICELINE and HOTWIRE purchases are not eligible for stay credit. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
