mrussellasu
I'd really like to get this Hotel Oceana for a reasonable rate.Any suggestions? Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! With PRICELINE you can't bid on a specfici hotel... are you willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the 3* or higher level? If you're trying to target a specific property HOTWIRE can often be a better option. If you do a HOTWIRE search for your dates does anything that resembles the Hotel Oceana in the Hotwire Hotel List appear for your dates? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. BeritOlam
I'd really like to get this Hotel Oceana for a reasonable rate.Good luck at getting a good deal (via PRICELINE or HOTWIRE) on ANYTHING in Santa Barbara. It's an expensive market with few hotels seeming to participate. I've checked numerous times....and I've rarely ever seen anything remotely for the price you're looking for. You'd be lucky to get a 2-star place for $110-120 over the weekend.... :) Link to comment
mrussellasu
right, but I know that the Hotel Oceana is the only 3* in Santa Barbara that participates and I think the recent results show that I'm within the range accepted... Link to comment
thereuare
Since hotels are added all the time, not sure how you "know" this is the only 3* hotel in the zone... plus you could be upgraded to a higher rated hotel. As well, rates are date specific, so you can't just look at an accepted win between $100-$110 and expect that you will get accepted for different dates as well... here is a Priceline Bid where 3* in this zone was denied at $200. Hotel direct rates for your dates start at $255/nite, so you're bids are still less than half the prevailing rate. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Colfax
Oceana is $245 for your dates, which isn't that high for this hotel. It's been $300+ many weekends this summer. There's not a lot of history on Oceana but I get the impression they don't give Priceline inventory far in advance.I'd try PRICELINE at $110 again on Monday afternoon. Goleta is a free rebid for 3* so you can try $95 or $100 first; then add Goleta at $110 or $120.Since your trip is less than a week away do you have a backup plan if Oceana doesn't come through?
