B Traveller Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 First bid 5* $50 in Pest area: rejected, added Buda and raised to $55: rejected,Bid in Pest, 4* $50, counteroffer to increase by $14: declined (from my side).Next day: succesfull bid in Pest 4* for $55.Very happy with the Inter-Continental, absolutely a five-star hotel in Budapest.Of course I used the PRICELINE link of this forum.
Romelle Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 You really scored there! I bid Budapest a couple of years ago, inched up one dollar at a time, fiddled with split bids, and finally at $69 got a Ramada 4*. Great trip and the hotel worked well, but your location is much better and I'm sure the hotel much posher.I fell in love with the Budapest version of gyros. Little hole-in-the-wall places. Order "everything". Goes great with local beer - Dreher's. Also, the bakeries are incredible - anything with poppy seeds and/or walnuts. Romelle

B Traveller Posted October 15, 2009 Author Report Posted October 15, 2009 Romelle, I totally agree with you, I have been there already a few times this year. Don't forget the wonderful Tokaj wines either, which are probably the best sweet wines in the world..Kind regards,Bram
