mled1
The maximum bid should be something round 140$. Do I have a chance with this budget? Link to comment
thereuare
Sure, you have a pretty good chance! :) Here's what i'm seeing/thinking for your dates:THIS SITE has what i believe are the following:Sheraton NY @ $143/niteGrand Hyatt @ 146/niteWestin @ $152/niteMy preference would be the Westin and i think it's probably worth the few extra dollars, but if your budget is tight to begin with i think either of the two would be fine as well. Perssonally i would take the Grand Hyatt over the Sheraton, but they're also two different locations so that should play a factor in your decision as well. You can match up the hotels with the hotwire hotel list as well as ask us any questions. If you're not that fussy as to the particular hotel and are flexible enough to try Priceline, this is how i would proceed...You have two RE-BID ZONES available at the 4* level. If you're not familiar with re-bidding pelase read teh prior link and ask any question you may have. If you're new to re-bidding you may also want to post your re-bid zones here just to confirm them (and avoid any potential mistakes).Select 4* MTE and bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone and...Bid $115.If rejected close browser and re-access Priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTW and bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone and...Bid $115.If rejected close browser and re-access Priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTE and MTW...Bid $120, if rejected add UM/CPS and...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone1 and...Bid $130.If rejected close browser and re-access Priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTE and MTW and UM/CPS and re-bid zone2...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone1 and...Bid $140.Any questions feel free to ask.Let us know which route you decide to go (or something else) and let us know how it goes.Good Luck. mled1
Thanks a lot for your help ... I had success with the second strategy :-)Selected 4* MTW and bid $110 and got the Hilton. It is not my favourite at all, but it seems to be a good deal as the regular rates starting at $169 at hilton.comSo thanks again! Are there any hints available to avoid the $40/day valet parking fee? thereuare
Is this the Hilton NY or the Hilton Times Square? There is adivice on parking in this thread: NYC PARKING. In addition to the information there, another option is parking outside of the city (depending upon which direction you are coming from) and taking mass transit into the city... leaving your car at the bus or train station.
