I needed to secure a room before my husband got too antsy and decided to book a hotel at published rate!Anyway, my $125-140 bids for a 4* or 3.5* weren't getting me anywhere. I knew the 3.5* was likely to be the Sheraton. My husband was there during the week a couple of weeks ago and wasn't impressed at $130 per night, so I wasn't willing to go any higher, even though weekends seem to be SO much more expensive in AC.So, I suspect I paid more than I needed to, but I successfully won a room in the Luxe Tower at the Chelsea Hotel for $140 (two days earlier, $140 was not enough for a 3* room). I called them to confirm that we are in the tower. Apparently Priceline doesn't have inventory in the Annexe, so if you win on Priceline you are definitely in the Tower. Not bad - the room is $239.40 everywhere else. So 40+% discount. Here's to a great weekend - we have Ron White tickets. Should be a lot of fun.
