Priceline Hotel: 4* Chicago (Millenium-Loop-Grant Park) Palmer House Hilton

I never would have guessed that I would be returning to Chicago so soon. I was just there during Labor Day for the first time and had also won a bid with the Palmer House Hilton. Our winning bid was even lower last time, but I think the $70 rate is still a bargain.

After reading the various reviews, we did not have very high expectations, but the hotel turned out to be very pleasant. Our room was about average size with a king bed, no particular view, except for a glimpse of a nice rooftop garden at one of the nearby buildings. Yes, the bathroom was tiny even by European standards. We managed though and the marble counter and flooring gave it a nice touch. Also, the Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries were better than I expected. The only complaint that I can think of was the slow luggage service. It took a while for our suitcases to be delivered to our room. Other than that, we had no complaints. The staff was very courteous and we really enjoyed winding down at the end of the day in the grand lobby before retiring to our room.
