mrree Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 I looked through general FAQs and didn't see this addressed; I'm curious if it's a better strategy to try to book (priceline) for full stay, or try to extend the stay once a bid is accepted. Is there any policy or pattern about this?In specific, i'm looking to book in new york between November 3-8. Also if anyone has any sense of the historical prices of those dates, it would be appreciated. Thanks!
thereuare Posted September 29, 2009 Report Posted September 29, 2009 1) please READ your messages2) if you'd prefer not to change hotels, then you should bid the entire stay together as there is no assurance that the offer to extend your stay will be offered, and even if it is, there is no guarantee that you'd be able to extend your stay for the same price as your original purchaseFor helping bidding for these dates, let us know which zone(s) you're willing to accept, as well as your desired star rating and nightly budget (before taxes and fees)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. mrree Posted October 13, 2009 Author Report Posted October 13, 2009 tried it for a couple of weeks (only trying 4* in Midtown West and Times Square) and finally landed this, at the Warwick. I think the weekend was jacking the price up. Considered bidding Tues through thurs, and then bidding again for fri-sat, but didn't want to move hotels. I also think adding SOHO would have helped, but didn't want to end up too far downtown. Cool.
thereuare Posted October 13, 2009 Report Posted October 13, 2009 Congratulations on your win! While somewhat more than you originally intended to spend, for the most part NYC rates have been steadily creeping up for the Fall season.
