kowabunga Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 Tried 4 star and 3.5 star hotels repeatedly over three days, using re-bidding method each time (bids ranged from $50-65). Nothing was accepted, so I lowered it down to 3 stars and started off with a bid of $50.A screen popped up saying that if I was willing to increase my bid to $64, I could try again now. So I did, and it was accepted at Holiday Inn Austin Town Lake.Coupled with my winning priceline bid in San Antonio that I shared here, we will be spending four nights in San Antonio/Austin for less than $300. Can't really complain about that!Once again, used the PRICELINE link to start my bidding.Now... a rental car. :)
thereuare Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 Congratualtions on your success!Glad to see you're happy with the results and this trip is costing you much less than it otherwise would have. For future reference, you can often undercut the PRICELINE counter-offer by using re-bid zones (Priceline Re-Bidding Explained) or waiting out the 24 hour lockout period, as discussed in this Priceline Suggests Price to Pay thread. If you have any questions in this regard feel free to ask.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
