Priceline Hotel: 3* Batimore (Airport Baltimore Washington BWI) Aloft

I've been getting Aloft (a Starwood property) a lot lately at BWI. It's a brand new hotel with a bar, pool, and gym, but no restaurant. They have some self-serve food selections.

For those who haven't stayed an "Aloft" hotel, it's a "loft" concept. The lobby looks like a Chipotle's, with bare concrete floors and ceilings, and a lot of stainless steel. The bare concrete ceiling concept continues into the hotel rooms, but at least there's carpet in the room. You get a large shower with a rainfall showerhead rather than a tub. The rooms are on the small side, but the comfy Sheraton beds and pillows make up for that. All of the furnishings are built-in. Internet is free, and you get an AV entertainment module which lets you plug your Iphone/Ipod into the TV speakers (I think).

It's an interesting concept, which some will like, and others will hate. I like it.

Glad to hear you're receiving this hotel frequently and enjoying this new starwood concept. Targeting a more budget oriented consumer (free internet and 'basic' furnishings) i think this concept was released at a very good time based upon the current economy. Hopefully they'l continue to please consumers.
