reppin_the_847 Posted October 9, 2009 Report Posted October 9, 2009 I had started off by putting up a $31 bid for Novi, MI, but then Priceline gave me the following message:"Try Again Right NowWe searched hundreds of options to find your hotel room, however we can't accept your offer of $31 per room, per night. Your credit card has not been charged for Request Number ###-###-###-##. If you are willing to raise your price by $8, you can try the same request again right now. Normally you are required to change additional items (add zones, star level, or dates) in order to try your request again. However we are able to extend this one-time opportunity to you because of the zone, quality level and dates you requested. "Well, my friend thought that Priceline was trying to upsell at a higher margin, but who knows, maybe we would've landed a different hotel such as the Residence Inn or the Hilton Garden Inn. In any case, my friend put up a $34 bid on his computer with his CC right after my bid, and he landed the Doubletree on the first shot. We've stayed at this hotel before, and as other members have pointed out, it's a very nice 3-star hotel with great service. The fresh cookies upon check-in is definitely something that we're all looking forward to. Plus there is ample nightlife in either direction (MBargo, Dirty Martini, etc.). We will have two rooms lined up for that Friday night.
