txdealhunter Posted October 13, 2009 Report Posted October 13, 2009 11/1/09 & 11/2/09 @ $52 per nightThat is awesome that you got the Marriott in Town Center. For the past year I have seen people bidding on 3.5 star in Sugar Land getting Hilton SW Freeway. In my opinion, that is like getting the Ritz Carlton instead of Hotel 6.\Marriott is in Sugar Land Town Square (http://www.sugarlandtownsquare.com), and is in walking distance from so many restaurants - Perry's Steakhouse, PF Changs, Carrabas, BJ's, Red Lobster, LaMadeline, Cafe Adobe, Amici ... and many more. (Also, Jamba Juice and Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream)Hilton is in SW Houston in not the best area of town. There are 3 strip clubs in walking distance and some bar/saloon's. To be fair, there are some good restaurants nearby but not really walking distance.I can only hope this means that Hilton SW was downgraded to 3 star. (I hope to try in a few months if I can have a good feeling I'll get the Marriott.)This leads me to a question, is there a way to petition Priceline to change star ratings? It seem absurd to me that these 2 hotels are the same rating, and that there should be some recourse to get some separation. Anyone know the inside scoop?
