Never stayed in an American Inn before, but the price was certainly right.

Update - I went to this property today and left without checking in, despite knowing I had a nonrefundable reservation. I can't explain what it was, but somehow it was just creepy -- definitely more of a 1* motel than a 3* hotel. I went into the lobby and didn't get a good vibe, but rang the bell for assistance. After a minute when I didn't hear anyone coming, I decided it was worth losing my money and checking into a hotel I got a better feeling about. (I've used both Hotwire and Priceline for years and this is the first reservation from either I've been upset about.)

I called Hotwire's customer service after driving across town and checking into a Comfort Inn. They said this property had recently been reviewed and downgraded to 2*. After putting me on hold for just a few minutes they gave me a refund for my 2 night reservation (which I hadn't even asked for yet) plus a $50 credit toward a future reservation. Kudos to Hotwire for making this one right. The new 2* rating is still a stretch in my opinion, but it's a step in the right direction.
